Town Hall

6:00 p.m.
Present: Bob Zak, Roland Ochsenbein, Chris Sterling
Also Present: Kelly Collins

Agenda Items:
Minutes:
The minutes of the February 4th, 2008  meeting were approved.

Director’s Report:
Bob Shanny has been working in the library as a STRP employee. He has inventoried the books in the library balcony, and has identified books with significant value. He will now look over the books and old 78 RPM records in the basement.
Kelly learned from the administrator of the Central MA Regional Library System about a grant for web sites for small libraries. The web site would be free the first year and then be $250 for subsequent years. This website, like Virtual Town Hall, is based on a template, but in this case, the template is geared specifically toward library programs and services. A motion was made by Roland, seconded by Bob and passed unanimously to support the grant application.
The data circuit at 563 Main Street is up and running.
C/W MARS will soon be accepting credit or debit cards for payment of library fines and/or bills. If patrons want to take advantage of this new service, they should do it on their own, and not through our own library staff. The Trustees discussed the library's current practice of refunding payments to patrons for lost, then found, items, and decided to discontinue it.~ From now on, when an item is lost and paid (or lost and replaced), and later found, the item belongs to the patron and there will be no money refunded.
The Friends have granted the library $2,000 for programs for 2008. Phil and Kelly will meet in March to plan the summer reading programs.
Moving – Starting March 1st, the library will be paying the electric bill at the temporary quarters. Kelly will be getting estimates for Pods for storage.

Budget:
Bob and Kelly will meet with Advisory to review the FY09 budget.

LCC:
The Library Construction Committee will meet on March 20th to talk about parking, green issues, budget review, and the ZBA application.

The next Trustees’ meeting will be on Monday, April 7th  at 6:00 at Town Hall.

Respectfully submitted, the Trustees,

Robert Zak                                  Roland Ochsenbein                     Christine Sterling
